The Civil Wars Announce “Permanent Split”   It’s been a long time coming, and despite the hopeful prayers of their fans, The Civil Wars is a band no longer. Joy Williams and John Paul White announced the news today (August 5), though they’ve been on indefinite hiatus since 2012 due to “internal discord and irreconcilable difference of ambition.” Ms. Williams, who has been pretty vocal about everything up to this point, explained, "I am saddened and disappointed by the ending of this duo, to say the very least.
